The course

FULL TITLE:“Aesthetic and functional prosthetic design and realization: From the traditional techniques to digital protocols in fixed and removable prosthesis treatments.”

The course has been prepared to offer a comprehensive didactic perspective in dental prosthetic design.
To achieve this goal, the 4 speakers will deal with various topics, theoretical and practical, relating to fixed and removable prostheses. A fundamental step is to transmit the working techniques both manually and with modern digital softwares.
The correct balance between function and aesthetics will be a central theme in the teaching of the course which aims to offer effective practical tools to deal with any type of prosthetic project.

Course Key Points

Share the fundamental concepts of total prosthetics with respect to modern protocols on implants, starting from a correct assessment and knowledge of anatomy. Analyze and understand the work phases to achieve optimal and repeatable results over time. Analysis, planning and application in overdenture treatments.

Analyze and define guidelines for the treatment of patients with removable prosthetic restorations. Understand how to obtain satisfactory aesthetic and functional results even in cases where there are few dental elements or with the placement of few implants. The objective is to transmit a simple and effective work protocol that allows obtaining safe and repeatable results over time with respect to the overdenture prosthesis.

Transmit the basic and most advanced concepts for the design and production of the prosthesis with modern digital systems (Exocad – 3Shape) that allow the dental technician to safely face the choice of components, their positioning and the entire production process.
Transmit a new protocol for the treatment of fixed prostheses at the prosthetic implant level. A technique to optimize working time and results by simplifying the work of the dental technician in managing the different treatments. This protocol will be “adaptable” to all the different types and systems of implants that the professional will use in the laboratory.

Hands-on Session

Each of the teaching sessions will be complemented by a phase of practical work. A specialized laboratory will prepare several demonstrative models so that each participant can “simulate” the design and implementation of a real case. From removable prosthetic treatment to fixed prosthetics, each student will work on 3 different demo models, positioning, connecting and building the different structures. The phases related to completely digital work will be structured with special screens and PCs that will allow you to go through the different steps necessary for digital design (both in fixed and removable prostheses).
